‘Coptering a double spin bait into a pocket in the weeds or down the side of it is certainly not a new technique but this is the 1st bait built specifically for this application. The basic technique is to allow the bait to sink vertically to the bottom of the weed then to power (rake)the bait out at a faster rate than the drop, this contrast in rates plus the difference in the vertical and horizontal presentations results in targeting both active and lethargic fish triggering them into the strike. This is a technique that is only really effective from boats and not from the bank. Cast into the weed pocket or down the side of it then allow the bait to free spin down to the bottom, as soon as you feel the slack, power the bait out on the REEL not the rod, you will need the rod to strike when the bait is hit. The arm design of the Copter is different than that of the other single spin baits in that the top arm allows the blades to be directly above the head of the bait on the drop but not too long as to allow the bait to make the bait roll over as it is powered out (raked). If the pike hit the bait on the rake it is almost invariable automatically hooked.
